Photocat is a Danish green tech company founded in 2009 that produces a photocatalytic technology for building materials, which reduces air pollution. Our partners are manufacturers of bitumen membranes, concrete pavers and hardwood floors with operations in Europe and North America, leading the way for a new breed of sustainable and smart building materials that clean the air we breathe.
Photocatalytic building materials degrade air pollutants such as Nitrogen Oxides and Volatile Organic Compounds when exposed to light. These pollutants lead to lower quality of life, sickness and an increase in hospitalization.
Photocat holds the right to commercially exploit 36 approved patents and 56 pending patents worldwide that protects the NOxOFF™ and actiFLOOR™ technology and application method. The technology is today available across three surface materials in Europe and North America. To date, the technology is deployed across more than 1 million square meters which on a daily basis removes 30.9 kg/NOx from the air we breathe.
